Updating the Create Contact Form in HubSpot
This step-by-step guide shows you how to update the "Create Contact" form in HubSpot. Learn how to add and modify the fields in your form to make it easier to add individual contacts to HubSpot.
1. Begin by navigating to Contacts using the side panel on the left-hand side of your HubSpot dashboard.
2. In the top-right corner of the Contacts page, click the Create contact button to open the contact creation form.
3. In the contact creation window, locate and click Edit this form near the top right of the form popup.
4. You are now in the form editor. Start by removing any fields you do not need:
- Hover over the field on the right side of the screen that you want to remove.
- Click the trash can icon to remove it from your form view.
5. After removing any unnecessary fields:
- Use the list on the left to add additional properties relevant to Ensemble marketing.
- Once added, drag and drop the fields on the right to rearrange them in your preferred order.
We recommend adding fields from both the Contact Information and Portals sections.
From Contact Information:
- Salutation
- First Name
- Last Name
- Street Address
- Street Address 2
- City
- State/Region
- Postal Code
- Country
From Portals:

Communication Channels
⚠️ Important: Every contact must have a Communication Channel set in order to sync to Ensemble. This property determines what type of marketing the contact will receive.
6. Once you’ve finished editing, be sure to click save and close and then navigate back to contacts to start creating contacts using your newly updated form.
