Customize Columns in Your HubSpot Contacts View
Learn how to personalize your Contacts View in HubSpot by customizing the columns you see. This guide walks you through selecting, reordering, and adjusting the properties that appear in your contact table.
This guide will help you quickly access the most relevant information for your Member Marketing program, including communication channels and address fields.
1. Start by clicking the “Contacts” icon—this is the third icon in the left-hand navigation panel, as shown below. This will take you to your main contact list view.
Next, locate the “Edit columns” button on the right side of the screen (above your contact table) and click it. This opens the customization panel where you can choose which contact properties you want to display.
2. In the column editor panel, start by removing any fields you don’t regularly use. To do so, simply click the “X” next to each field listed in the right-hand column.
Note: Removing a field here does not delete it from your HubSpot account—it only removes it from your current view. You can always re-add it later if needed.
3. Now, use the left-hand column in the editor to add fields you want to include in your Contacts view.
You can search for specific fields using the search bar at the top, then simply check the box next to each property you'd like to display. As you select them, they’ll appear in the right-hand column, which represents the order they’ll show up in your table.
You can also reorder fields in the right-hand column by dragging and dropping them into your preferred order—so the most important info appears first in your view.
This is a great place to add properties like Communication Channels, Street Address or any fields you use for Member Marketing.
Once you’ve finished adding, removing, and reordering your fields, make sure to click “Apply” in the bottom left corner of the editor.
4. Your columns will now display exactly as you've set them up. You can edit any field directly within this view, and your changes will automatically save.
However, because your contact list can become quite long and require scrolling, it's easy to accidentally edit the wrong rows. We recommend making edits directly within the contact's profile instead of from the table view below.
